How to make a sped-up version
- Drop in the song (MP3, WAV, M4A or FLAC). It's read in your browser, never uploaded.
- Start from the usual setting: 125% speed, with the pitch rising along with it, like a record played faster.
- Adjust it. Faster for more energy. You see the new BPM and key as you go.
- Download it as a WAV.
Why sped-up versions work
Sped-up songs are the sound of a lot of TikTok and Reels: brighter, faster and easy to loop under a short video. Many artists release a sped-up version next to the original, and fans who find it there often go on to the original.
Release your own sped-up version
Make it here, then release it through your distributor like any other version. A separate release needs its own ISRC: see how to find your ISRC and UPC. Then make a video for each part of it for your ads and posts.
Clips finds the parts for you.
Questions
How fast is a sped-up version?
Usually 115% to 135% of the original speed. We start at 125%.
Does the pitch change?
Yes, on purpose: in a sped-up version, the pitch rises with the speed. To speed a song up without changing its pitch, use the BPM changer.
Is my song uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. The song never leaves your computer.
Can I post a sped-up version of someone else's song?
Only with permission from whoever owns it. For your own songs, you can release it through your distributor like any other version.
