F major has one flat and a warm, rounded sound; it is a comfortable key for voices and horns and a common one in soul and gospel. Its chords are F, Gm, Am, B♭, C, Dm and E°. D minor is the relative minor and F minor the parallel minor. On guitar the F chord is the famous first barre chord, which keeps F major more at home on the piano.
