D minor has one flat and a reputation for seriousness; it is the key of a great deal of baroque and film music, and of a lot of modern house and techno. Its chords are Dm, E°, F, Gm, Am, B♭ and C, with A as the major dominant and its C♯. F major is the relative major and D major the parallel. It sits comfortably for singers and for keyboard left hands, which keeps it in use.
