B minor has two sharps and sits in a sweet spot for guitar and voice: dark enough for ballads, high enough to ring. Its chords are Bm, C♯°, D, Em, F♯m, G and A, with the major F♯ and its A♯ as the dominant. D major is the relative major, B major the parallel. A lot of pop-rock and singer-songwriter material lives here, often with a capo on fret 2 using A minor shapes.
