How to use it
- Set the BPM with the slider or by typing it. Don't know it? Tap along on tap tempo, or drop a song into the BPM finder.
- Pick the beats per bar: 4 for most pop and rock, 3 for a waltz, 6 for a 6/8 feel.
- Press play. The first beat of each bar is accented, so you always know where the bar starts.
Download a click track
Choose the tempo, the beats per bar and how many bars, and download the click as a WAV. Drop it on a track in your DAW to record to, or play it to a drummer's headphones in rehearsal. It's made in your browser and never uploaded.
Practicing with a metronome
- Start slow. Play the hard part at a tempo where it's clean, then raise it a few BPM at a time.
- Put the click on 2 and 4. Many players set half the tempo and hear the clicks as the backbeat, which feels closer to a drummer.
- Record yourself. Listen back against the click: rushing and dragging are easy to hear afterwards.
